We tackle Retrofit projects and produce outstanding results
Sustainable low energy construction has been to the fore in Kilduff construction since 2010, when Donal first researched the German Passivhaus standard for the construction of his own home. Since then, the company has gone on to build several Passivhaus standard homes using a variety of systems and materials. This knowledge and experience are a natural fit for the current task of retro-fitting our existing housing stock. In recent years the SEAI has increased grants significantly to encourage homeowners to retrofit their homes in accordance with government policy and climate mitigation targets.
We have strategically aligned with SEAI project coordinators and SEAI one-stop-shops to be able to offer our clients a comprehensive hassle-free retrofit solution. The government vacant and derelict house grants have also encouraged the redevelopment of such properties, and this is also a natural fit for our experience and core competencies dealing with older lime-based buildings so common to our vernacular heritage. In fact, we are currently engaged in several projects where our clients are availing vacant or derelict grants in addition to SEAI grants and we can offer tailored solutions for both.
Kilduff Construction is proficient in airtightness works and is a certified SIGA installer. Kilduff Construction has achieved some of the best airtightness results in the country and Donal’s own house boasts an impressive 0.32 ACH at 50 pascals. Kilduff construction is also a certified and SEAI registered Baumit external insulation contractor and an SEAI registered contractor for Attic insulation and drylining. We are proficient with the breathable Isover Optima systems for older buildings and with Diathonite cork and lime plaster for our heritage buildings. Combined with our range of micro machinery and skilled operatives and craftsmen we can tackle the deepest of retrofit projects and deliver outstanding results for our clients.
